Hosts & Sources

Understanding and managing your content providers

Understanding Hosts and Sources

Hosts are servers that provide content sources. Think of a host as a repository containing multiple sources.

Sources are the individual content providers within a host — each source gives you access to a different library of titles.

To start browsing content, you first add a host, then enable the sources you want from that host.

Managing Hosts

Adding a Host

  1. Go to Sources (the dotted square icon in the tab bar)
  2. Tap the + button
  3. Acknowledge the warnings in the dialog
  4. Enter the host URL and tap Test
  5. Once verified, tap Save

Checking for Updates

Hosts may release updates that add new sources or capabilities.

  1. Go to Sources
  2. Tap on a host
  3. If an update is available, you'll see a notification
  4. Tap to apply the update

Removing a Host

Removing a host disconnects all its sources. Titles in your library from those sources won't be deleted, but the particular sources for each title won't be able to fetch or read content until you manually reconnect it to a source again.

  1. Go to Sources
  2. Swipe left on the host
  3. Tap Delete

Managing Sources

Viewing Your Sources

Go to Sources to see all sources from your connected hosts. Sources are grouped by host. Each source shows:

  • Source name and icon
  • Connection status (green = online)
  • Authentication status if login is required

Enabling and Disabling Sources

Toggle individual sources on or off. Disabled sources won't appear in search results.

Searching for Content

  1. Go to Search
  2. Select which source to search (or search all)
  3. Enter your search term
  4. Browse the results

Search Filters

Some sources support additional filters like:

  • Content type
  • Status (ongoing, completed)
  • Sort order

Browsing

Many sources offer browse sections for discovering new content:

  • Latest updates
  • Popular titles
  • Featured content

Authentication

Some sources require you to log in. If you see an authentication badge:

  1. Tap on the source
  2. Enter your credentials
  3. Your login will be saved securely
