Alethia's Position
Alethia is a reader application — it does not host, store, or distribute any copyrighted content. The app functions as a client that connects to user-configured hosts.
To reiterate on this stance:
- Alethia does not provide default sources or hosts
- Users are responsible for the hosts they choose to connect to
- No content is bundled with or served by the Alethia application itself
Additionally, whenever adding a new host to Alethia, users must acknowledge three terms before proceeding:
- Third-party content — Alethia does not host or control any third-party content accessible through hosts
- Regional availability — Content availability varies by region and may change at any time
- Personal responsibility — The user is ultimately responsible for any hosts and content they choose to access
Content Concerns
If you have concerns about content available through a specific host:
- Contact the host operator directly — They control what content is accessible through their service.
- Contact the upstream source — Many hosts aggregate content from third-party sources who handle their own DMCA processes.
Alethia cannot remove content from hosts as we do not operate them.
DMCA Requests
Content Hosted by Third Parties
Alethia does not host, cache, or store any user-accessible content. As such, DMCA takedown requests for content accessed through Alethia should be directed to the appropriate party:
- The host operator — The server operator providing the content through their host
- The upstream source — The original content provider where the host retrieves content
Alethia has no technical capability to remove, modify, or restrict access to content served by third-party hosts.
Requests Regarding Alethia
If you believe the Alethia application itself (the software, not content on third-party hosts) infringes on your intellectual property rights, you may submit a DMCA notice to:
Email: admin@alethia.moe
A valid DMCA notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work — A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- Identification of the infringing material — Specific identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail to locate it
- Contact information — Your address, telephone number, and email address
- Good faith statement — A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- Accuracy statement — A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
- Signature — A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
